Goldrush Sunk My Battleship!

In the vein of the much-missed Silent Music Revival, Goldrush provides the soundtrack to the 1925 silent film classic “Battleship Potemkin” at a special show at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts on Friday, April 6. It’s been called of the greatest silent films ever and I’ve definitely interested to see it on the big screen. And Goldrush providing the soundtrack makes this even more of a must-see show.

Story: The setting is Russia, 1905. Enraged with the deplorable conditions on board the
armored cruiser Potemkin, the ship’s loyal crew effects the unthinkable: mutiny. Seizing
control, they raise the red flag of revolution becoming the rallying point for the populace.
This insurrection is met violently by the Czar’s ruthless troops on the steps of seaport
Odessa. Restoration by Kino International. 69 minutes.
