This Weekend: Breathe Carolina, Billy the Kid, Frankie Rose

Just a few shows to see this weekend.

On Saturday, April 7, electro-pop duo Breathe Carolina hits the National with The Ready Set. Their single “Blackout” has been grabbing media attention left and right. Expect one big dance party.


Also on Saturday, Billy the Kid and the Southside Boys will be performing at at Poe’s Pub. Openers will be Jon and Kevin from Horsehead with their acoustic side project the Dimmer Twins and kicking things off will be The Mirrors, a psychedelic indy group from Norfolk.


Frankie Rose has been in numerous indie rock bands including Crystal Stilts, Dum Dum Girls and Vivian Girls and now she’s doing the solo thing. Her album, “Interstellar,” was released in February and earned a “Best New Music” recognition from Pitchfork. Frankie Rose performs at Strange Matter on Sunday, April 8 with White Laces and Nelly Kate.
