Strange Matter is the Place to Be This Week

If you were wondering where to be every night this week, it’s most likely going to be Strange Matter. There’s a whole bunch of great shows coming up in the next few days.

BrokenWater1Broken Water are touring again after a long hiatus and have a show coming up on Wednesday, May 15 at Strange Matter with Canary Oh Canary, Whoa and Hoax Hunters. The group’s recent LP “Tempest” is full of big sounds and melodic fuzz reminiscent of Sonic Youth.

the_20features_20main_201_430x280.shklNashville quartet The Features are playing Strange Matter on Thursday, May 16 with Those Manic Seas and Heyrocco just after the May 14 release of their new self-titled album. The new single is seriously catchy, throbing with a tense funk pulse, jagged guitar swipes and staccato synth lines.

obrotherAfter spending the last year supporting bands like Thrice and Circa Survive, O’Brother is kicking off its May tour at Strange Matter on Friday, May 17 with Shy Low and Comrades before hitting the road with Alice In Chains. The performance will be showcasing songs off of their debut album “Garden Window.”

titus-andronicus1Titus Andronicus returns to Strange Matter for an early show on Saturday, May 18 in support of its 2012 album “Local Business.” They’ll be joined by The Ar-Kaics and So So Glos.
