New Song from Black Girls Helps Children in China

Tomorrow-City-authorIt seems to be a very Stooges day as another RVA band has also covered the band’s music.

Snuff rockers Black Girls, who have just finished recording their second album, has also covered The Stooges’ “Search and Destroy” and downloads of this song go to help poor students in China.

VCU professor and novelist Kirk Kjeldsen asked Black Girls to record a cover of “Search and Destroy” for charity and to go along with the release of his new book “Tomorrow City.”

“Search and Destroy” is now available free to download. For every 500 times it’s downloaded, a year’s worth of schooling will be given to up to ten disadvantaged Chinese children through the nonprofit Stepping Stones China. The funding will come from Kjeldsen and an anonymous Chinese donor.
