Beatles tribute bands come and go. Some are great and bring the Fab Four to life. Many others are terrible and don’t even come close to doing the Beatles justice.
However, the Classical Mystery Tour not only look and sound just like The Beatles, they also join symphony orchestras to present the group’s music exactly as they were originally recorded. Highlights include “Penny Lane” with a live trumpet section, “Yesterday” has a haunting acoustic guitar and string quartet and the classical/rock blend on “I Am the Walrus” sounds much better with a full orchestra.
The Classical Mystery Tour will join the Richmond Symphony for “Music of the Beatles 50th Anniversary Tour” on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 8pm at the Carpenter Theatre at Richmond CenterStage.
