Billy is no longer able to function independently and lives and receives care at a local Alzheimer’s and dementia facility operated by the Veterans Administration.
The concert will feature Billy’s two long-standing bands, Big City and The Show Dogs and will host a line-up of special guests, including Robbin Thompson, Steve Bassett, Bill Blue, Bruce Olsen, Susan Greenbaum, Janet Martin, Mike McAdam and many more familiar names. as they take the audience on a journey through Billy’s songs written over the past four decades.
The night will also see the release of “The Music of Billy Ray Hatley,” a 2-disc CD compilation of songs from Billy’s recordings with Big City, The Show Dogs and his solo work. It will also feature unreleased songs, outtakes, demos and other rarities. The concert will be recorded and a video production of the show will be broadcast on WCVE Public Television in early 2014.
All proceeds from the concert and CD will benefit Billy’s two children with Sara Hatley and The Daily Planet’s efforts to assist homeless veterans.
