Heavy Midgets’ upcoming full-length album, “Super King,” which will be released on Wednesday, January 15, was inspired by the Asian buffet that used to be on Broad Street (It’s still there, but called something else now, but the plates still say Super King).
Recorded, mixed and mastered by Eyeball Jenkins and produced by Eyeball and Heavy Midgets, “Super King,” has recurring themes of power, manipulation and American consumerism according to the band. The album’s sound is kind of a like a sonic buffet, with all the band’s different influences.
The band is having a tape/CD release show on Thursday, January 30 at Gallery 5 with Spandrel, New Turks and Malatese. They’ve also have a show coming up at En Su Boca on January 17 with Roseanne? and Short Skirts.
