Andrew Leahey and Friends Cover Tom Petty’s “Walls”

Back in November, local singer-songwriter Andrew Leahey underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor from the nerve in his ear.

Since the doctors gave him a 50/50 chance of losing his hearing due to the operation, he wanted to play with his friends one last time. Two weeks before the surgery, he invited 15 different musicians into his Nashville living room and recorded a version of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers’ “Walls.”

The video features members from groups like Bear Cub, the Allen Thompson Band, Bill Eberle, Street Corner Symphony, the Westbound Rangers, W.B. Givens, Samantha Harlow, Todd Farrell & the Dirty Birds, Don Gallardo & How Far West, Charlie Whitten and more.
