Peelander-Z Turns to Metal, Hits Strange Matter

image002The members of the Japanese action comic band Peelander-Z have been kicking their anime infused party punk for everyone to enjoy. On their latest album, “Metalander-Z,” the Brooklyn-by-way-of-Japan-by-way-of-planet-Peelander group turns to the ever exciting 80s metal scene and infuses it into its already insanely crazy show. Some of the albums that inspired Metalander-Z include AC/DC’s “High Voltage,” Cinderella’s “Night Songs,” Def Leppard’s “Pyromania,” Iron Maiden’s “Number of The Beast,” Mötley Crüe’s “Too Fast For Love,” Van Halen’s “1984,” and ZZ Top’s “Eliminator.”

Peelander-Z will be performing at Strange Matter on Thursday, May 8 with Downtown Brown, 6 Track Amateur and Creep-A-Zoids.
