There are times when there is so much great music going on in one evening, you don’t know where to turn first. Tuesday, July 22 is one of those nights.
Indie pop duo Kori Gardner and Jason Hammel, better known as Mates of State, will be performing at Capital Ale House along with local acts Lucy Dacus and My Darling Fury. They haven’t released anything since 2011’s amazing album, “Mountaintops,” but their pop nostalgia-filled live shows are always over the top. They usually turn the venue into an absolute circus with nonstop danceable songs.
Over at the National, alt-country band Old 97’s will be playing in support of its brand new record “Most Messed Up.” The guys are known for putting on an amazing live show that never disappoints the crowd.
And finally, Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires are playing at Strange Matter in support of their new album “Dereconstructed,” which is an incredible follow-up to their insanely amazing debut album “There Is a Bomb in Gilead.” Dwight Howard Johnson, Horsehead and Hail Blackbird are also on the bill.
