Thanks to an online petition, Oderus Urungus the late frontman of GWAR could be a playable character in the upcoming video game “Mortal Kombat X.”
This isn’t the first time Mortal Kombat has featured an outside character in the series. The 2011 “Mortal Kombat” game featured Kratos from the “God of War” game series as well as horror movie icon Freddy Krueger. Having Oderus Urungus in a game with over the top violence is a no-brainer. And with his distinctive look, he would seem to be a natural for the game.
From the petition:
People who are familiar with GWAR know Oderus Urungus, (played by Dave Brockie) the former singer of the band, unfortunately passed away last March. Oderus was as hilarious as he was viscous, and also one of the most colorful and creative characters not only in rock history, but also history in general. Though his music will live on, what better way would there be to further immortalize (toasty) Oderus Urungus then to have him be a playable character on Mortal Kombat X.
As of now, the petition has nearly 17,000 signatures. Sign the petition here: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/258/224/033/oderus-urungus-on-mortal-kombat-x/
