The Cheats Movement is hosting a celebration of hip hop films and music called LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION on Friday, May 8 at Gallery5.
From The Cheats Movement:
We are bringing together true fans of hip hop culture to celebrate the music and those films that have impacted the hip hop community, films like: Wild Style, Beat Street, Breakin, The Freshest Kids, all the way to New Jack City, Juice, and Beats, Rhymes, and Life.
This is not your average hip hop event. There will be a lot of stars in the building. We are bringing together a very special panel to discuss the impact of Hip Hop films on the culture. The panel will features: Zulu Queen Lisa Lee (Wild Style & Beat Street), Jesse Vaughn (21 time Emmy Award Winning Director), Kevin Kosanovich (Hip Hop Collection William & Mary), Monsee (Visual Artist), and more to be named. The panel is followed by live performances by: Noah-O, Joey Gallo, Michael Millions, and Chance Fischer. Powered by DJ Billy Nguyen, with a special early performance by Goldin. Tons of very special guests will be in the building. Even more announcements coming. I hope to see you there.
And because Cheats is so awesome, he’s giving away two free tickets to Wale’s “Simply Nothing” Tour, which is hitting The National on Saturday, April 18. The only people eligible to win are those who buy a pre-sale ticket. You need to purchase your ticket HERE on Eventbrite by Thursday at 3 p.m. Tickets will be drawn by random.
