This Week at Friday Cheers: Shakey Graves and Yarn

credit-ElizabethGriffin-EDG_8560-web-resUPDATE: Shakey Graves is unable to perform at Friday Cheers tomorrow evening, May 1, due to unforeseen personal circumstances.

The following statement was issued by the artist’s management:
“Please know how much Alejandro (Shakey Graves) appreciates every single fan, promoter, staff and volunteer that worked to bring our family to your stage. In addition, please know that Alejandro absolutely appreciates your understanding, and canceling a show is nothing less than a last-resort option for our entire team.”

FRIDAY CHEERS will still go on, and Yarn has agreed to extend their originally scheduled opening set into two full sets for a full night of music. Music begins at 6:30pm.
Advance ticket purchasers who prefer not to attend may get a refund thru Ticketstobuy. Online purchasers will receive a special email with information on the Shakey Graves May 1st show at Friday Cheers.

Original post:

Richmond’s biggest summer outdoor concert series, Friday Cheers, starts Friday, May 1, and it’s kicking off with the sounds of Shakey Graves, who recently released an EP of b-sides and rarities called “Nobody’s Fool.” for his self-proclaimed “Shakey Graves Day.” And his 2014 release “And the War Came” is still on heavy rotation.

Americana alt-country band Yarn will also be playing. They are incredible so don’t get there late.
