This is a great week for shows at Strange Matter. Here’s what’s coming:
June 10: Psychedelic dream-pop outfit Spirits And The Melchizedek Children will be playing with Teach Me Equals, Gull and Among The Rocks And Roots. The band’s been touring relentlessly behind their latest release “So Happy, It’s Sad.” They’ve been featured in Paste & The A.V. Club, who called them “the Southern Sigur Rós.”
June 11: Chapel Hill’s Spider Bags released their newest album “Frozen Letter” in August and will be supporting Woods along with Black Water Gold.
June 12: Madison, Wisconsin’s psych-punk duo The Hussy return with new album “Galore” and will perform with Institute, Lost Tribe and Nervous Ticks.
June 14 (Late Show!): In 2014, folk artist Strand of Oaks’ “HEAL” was critically acclaimed everywhere from NPR to Consequence of Sound, and it quickly became a favorite of many. And Richmond supergroup Avers is blowing up all over the place after being named a favorite from this year’s SXSW. This will be the last chance you have to see these bands for so cheap.
