Roomful of Blues, BET Music Matters and RVAJazzfest

I got your weekend activities right here.

The horn-fueled, jumping, swinging, award-winning band, Roomful of Blues will perform live at Shenanigan’s on Friday, April 8 in support of their new CD “Hook, Line & Sinker.” They’ve been known as one of the tightest, most joyful blues ensembles in the world, so expect a lot of grooving and dancing at this one.

Over at the National, R&B stars Melanie Fiona and Marsha Ambrosius will be performing as part of BET’s Music Matters Tour. These ladies can sing, and by sing I mean belt out notes that you and I could never do in our lifetimes.

On Saturday, head over to the Camel for the third annual RVAJazzfest. The evening will feature Harris Eisenstadt and Canada Day from Brooklyn and Richmond-based groups Scott Clark 4-tet and Old New Things, the latter co-led by trumpeter Taylor Barnett and guitarist Trey Pollard.
