An unexpected night at Cafe Diem brought me up close to a great new band that I seriously enjoyed.
The Quick & Easy Boys from Portland, Oregon were out promoting their sophomore full-length, “Red Light Rabbit,” and brought their brand of danceable, catchy roots-rock music to the bar and got everyone excited. It was energetic, upbeat and got everyone in the place dancing. I was waiting for that inevitable lull that always happens when bands play – and that lull never came.
Best part of the show was when the guitarist and bassist/lead singer played their instruments over their heads for a good chunk of the song. If the drummer were able to do that. it would be beyond awesome.
