RVA Halloween Shows that Will Scare You

With Halloween just around the corner, Richmond has numerous shows on Friday, Oct. 31 to scare the hell out of you.

Every year on Halloween, dead musical acts come back from the grave at Strange Matter for Return of the Living Dead Bands, a show featuring members of Richmond’s punk and underground community resurrecting dead or forgotten punk bands. This year’s event features dead bands like The Germs, Minutemen, Sepultura, Celtic Frost, Sex Pistols and the Stooges.

No BS! Brass will be taking over the Camel on Halloween with a big party with all their friends. The one-man mask-wearing guitar and drum playing maniac Gull will be performing as DJ Count Dakkula.

Over at Hardywood, the 1970s, one of the most wickedly rapturous years of American rock and roll, new wave and punk is being resurrected with Fear of Music (the bewitching music of the Talking Heads), Full Moon Fever (the enchanting rock and roll of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) and Los Ramones (The Ramones – in Spanglish).

Three Sheets to the Wind, America’s #1 Tribute to Yacht Rock, will be at Capital Ale House’s Music Hall playing all the spooky classics you know and love. You can also win cash and prizes in the 3rd annual Halloween costume contest and enjoy a special Halloween episode of Three Sheets TV™.

Vexine will be raising a little hell over at Poe’s Pub with a Halloween show that’s sure to entertain. Plus, there will be a grand prize for the best costume and 1st and 2nd runner’s up!

The National will be hosting a 90s Halloween extravaganza with The Bayside Tigers-Saved by the 90s playing all your 90s favorites with a Halloween twist. Costumes are encouraged.

Also, Fun Size will be playing the XL102 Zombie Prom at Keagan’s Irish Pub.
